SCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR FOR THE 2026/2027

Live Oak Waldorf School is seeking a full-time Administrator to begin job shadowing in January 2026, leading the school into its next phase of development with vision, collaboration, and care. About the School
Live Oak Waldorf School serves children from birth through 8th grade, including a parent-child program. Nestled in the Sierra Foothills in Meadow Vista, CA, our campus offers convenient proximity to both Lake Tahoe and the San Francisco Bay Area. Spanning 40 acres, it features an early childhood village, a natural amphitheater, gardens, a woodshop, an assembly and music room, and hiking trails through surrounding woods. Our campus reflects our values of outdoor learning, rhythm, and reverence for the natural world. We are a fully accredited member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA) and the Waldorf Early Childhood Association of North America (WECAN), and maintain strong ties to the wider Waldorf movement.
Position Summary
The Administrator serves as a central leadership figure at the school, rooted in servant leadership and committed to shared, collaborative governance. This role works in partnership with the College of Teachers, Board of Trustees, and Leadership Council supporting the school’s educational mission while overseeing the school’s day-to-day administrative functions. The Administrator plays a key role in aligning the school’s strategic goals with its financial and organizational capacities, building clear systems of communication, and
cultivating an environment of transparency, professionalism, and trust. In close collaboration with both the Board of Trustees and the College of Teachers, the Administrator serves as an ex-officio, non-voting member of the Board. The Administrator reports directly to the Board of Trustees and is formally evaluated by the Board, with input from staff, faculty, and the broader school community. A core responsibility of the role is to align the school’s strategic goals with its fiscal and operational capacities. The Administrator fosters transparent communication across all areas of school life and supports ongoing growth and development, all while upholding the school’s mission and its deep commitment to human development.

Compensation & Benefits
This is a full-time, year‑round exempt position, with a starting annual salary of $68,640, based on California’s exempt‑employee threshold for 2025. This meets the minimum salary requirement to maintain exempt status under California law.

Qualifications & Desired Attributes
● Experience or training in Waldorf education/administration is strongly preferred
● Bachelor’s degree in a business or related field is preferred
● Minimum 2 years of leadership experience, ideally in an independent or nonprofit school
● Knowledge of human resource practices, regulatory compliance, and nonprofit operations
● Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and fundraising culture is desired
● Strong organizational leadership and strategic planning skills
● Effective communication and conflict resolution skills
● Comfort working collaboratively with diverse community stakeholders
● Strong written and verbal communication
● Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Student Information Systems

OUTREACH COORDINATOR (HIRING NOW)
Live Oak Waldorf School is Recruiting for an Outreach Coordinator For the 2025/26 School Year.
The Outreach Coordinator is the school’s internal and external outreach events by planning, coordinating and executing each event responsible for finding events in the community to promote Live Oak Waldorf School and for coordinating the school’s participation in said events. This position is responsible for facilitating. A key role of this position is to seek out community members and businesses to build mutually
beneficial relationships and to increase the visibility of the school by driving community outreach initiatives.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES (including but not limited to):
External Events
● Explores all community events in the surrounding areas and assess the likelihood to attract families with children up to 8th grade.
● Consults the school calendar to determine the viability of staffing each event.
● Completes event application on behalf of the school and pays any fees to secure the school’s involvement.
● Creates and organizes a simple and age-appropriate craft project to be done on site, during the event.
● Responsible for staffing each event with at least two volunteers including community members such as; teachers, parents, administrative staff, board, and alumni volunteers.
Internal Events
Initiates the planning of internal events by communicating with the Administrator and the College of Teachers.
Initiates collaboration with the College of Teachers regarding parent education events.
Maintains and administers the Outreach Calendar to the administrative staff
and the College of Teachers.
Coordinates and consults with the Marketing team and school calendar to establish the dates and times for all internal events.
Creates a schedule of events for each event.
Coordinates event volunteers and/or committees, ensuring communications are clearly and professionally crafted.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability
preferred to successfully perform the essential functions of the position
● Experience in at least one or more of the following fields is desired; Hospitality, Marketing, Event Management, School Administration, non-profit experience, Business Management and/or managing people.
● Direct experience facilitating events is a plus.
● The ability to work in collaboration and coordination with others.
● Strong organizational skills.
● Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
● The ability to manage electronic communication platforms and design programs.
● Willingness to acquire an understanding of Waldorf principles.
HOURS: Hours of employment shall be part-time with an average of 10 hours per week for 40 weeks. The days of work are related to the various timeline of the events and may be completed from home for some of the time. There are occasional weekend duties and emergency situations.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: The compensation for this position shall be an hourly
rate of $22/hr.

ASSISTANT STARGARDEN CAREGIVER & MORNING PROGRAM SUBSTITUTE (2025 - 2026 School Year)
Live Oak Waldorf School is seeking a warm-hearted, enthusiastic, creative Assistant teacher for our Preschool and Kindergarten afterschool program (Stargarden) and Substitute Assistant teacher for our Preschool and Kindergarten morning programs to begin in the fall of 2025.
The ideal candidate is warm, nurturing, organized, has experience in childcare and is well versed in Waldorf early childhood pedagogy.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 12 Early Childhood Education units (or in process) required for Preschool
- Childcare experience
- Knowledge of Waldorf pedagogy
- TB test
- Live Scan
- Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues, administration, and parents.
HOURS:
- Stargarden hours are from 12:30 to 3pm Monday - Friday.
- Substitute hours for our morning Kindergarten and Preschool programs are 7:45am-12:30pm.
HOURLY PAY & BENEFITS:
Compensation: Pay is $20-$22 per hour, based on experience plus 50% of one tuition remission.
