ADJUNCT GRADES TEACHER
For the 2026/27 School Year
Live Oak Waldorf School is seeking a full-time Grades Support Teacher for Fall 2026.
The Grades Support Teacher supports the education of the student body of Live Oak Waldorf School and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the school's mission, vision, and values, while upholding the principles of Waldorf education.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Grades Support Teacher works with students in a developmentally appropriate
capacity in accordance with the Live Oak Waldorf School Curriculum Standards and the pedagogical principles of Waldorf Education.
The Grades Support Teacher works with colleagues in a professionally supportive and collaborative manner. The Grades Support Teacher will teach a rotation of Main Lesson blocks and weekly period classes, these being a mix of academic period classes and subject classes.
As a member of the College of Teachers, the position participates in weekly College and Grades Branch meetings, serves on an equitable share of committees, and engages in an equitable share of mentoring work with grades lead teachers.
The Grades Support Teacher will compose appropriate student reports.
This position is responsible for achieving and/or maintaining all appropriate certifications as specified by the Board of Trustees, Head of Administration, and/or by the College of Teachers.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED & EXERCISED
- The Grades Support Teacher reports to the Head of Administration regarding all compliance with employment laws and Live Oak Waldorf School’s employment policies.
- Reports to the Mentoring and Evaluations Committee of the College of Teachers regarding curricular and pedagogical principles and policies..
- Participates in the evaluation processes of the College of Teachers as outlined in the Employment Handbook and the Mentoring and Evaluations Documents.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Waldorf Grades Teaching Certificate
- Substantial experience as a grades teacher in an accredited Waldorf School

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands listed below are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The Grades Support Teacher must be able to:
- Walk, stand, and be on feet for 90% of the work day
- Climb stairs and hills
- Walk and run on uneven or rough ground
- Respond appropriately to situations of danger and guide children in such moments as needed
- Lift and carry at least 30 pounds
- Oversee and supervise safety of children in play environments
- Speak and understand fluent English
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This position is full-time; Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 3:30 pm during the school year, with occasional weekend duties (fairs, festivals, outreach). Grades Support Teacher must be available two weeks before the beginning of the school year, and two weeks after the last day of school.
COMPENSATION:
Compensation Range: $55,000 - $66,000, depending on experience

MUSIC TEACHER
Live Oak Waldorf School is seeking a Music (grades 2 and 3) and Choir (grades 4 and 5, and grades 6/7/8) teacher for the 2026/27 school year beginning in September 2026
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES (including but not limited to):
- Develop a syllabus with goals and objective of their year's work, working with developmental needs of each grade level
- Teach fundamentals of music theory
- Write Year-End Reports for each student
REQUIREMENTS:
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching and leading choir groups; Waldorf teaching experience and/or training preferred, though not mandatory.
- Able to speak and understand and communicate in English.
- A high degree of self-motivation with the ability to work independently, while working effectively in a team environment.
- Capacity to meet the school’s expectations and guidelines regarding direct communication by respecting and following the school’s Pathways of Communication process.
- The ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong organizational skills.
HOURS: Hours of employment shall be part-time with an average of 4 hours per week for 34 weeks. The days of work are primarily Monday through Friday from 10:45 am - 2:50 pm, with occasional weekends and evenings.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The compensation for this position shall be an hourly rate of $30 - $42 per hour, dependent on experience, and following the Subject teacher pay scale.

LEAD PRESCHOOL TEACHER
For the 2026/27 School Year
Live Oak Waldorf School is seeking a warm-hearted, enthusiastic, creative teacher for our preschool students beginning in the fall of 2026. We currently have 3 preschools offering 2-day, 3-day, and 5-day programs. Our Early Childhood program, which also includes two Kindergartens and a Parent-Child program, is thriving on our beautiful 40 acre campus.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES (including but not limited to):
- Develop and hold a warm and joyful daily rhythm for preschoolers ages 2 years 9 months-5 years old
- Facilitate an environment to support independent social play
- Bring age-appropriate circle time, stories, and puppet shows
- Foster a healthy class community including engaging in parent work
- Work out of a commitment to and ongoing engagement with Anthroposophy, Waldorf education, and child development
- Maintain healthy communication with colleagues and families
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher
- Waldorf teacher training or currently enrolled in Waldorf teacher training
- Prior teaching experience
- 12 units of Early Childhood Education college-level coursework
- TB Test and Live Scan
- All state-required vaccines
- Commitment to continuing Professional Development
- Willingness to work collaboratively with colleagues, administration and parents.
HOURS: Hours of employment shall be full-time, including class-time during the school day (8:15am-12:45pm), daily/weekly prep-time, weekly College and branch meetings, committee responsibilities, special events, and time for parent work.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: The compensation for this position starts at $43,000 based on experience (this pay rate is currently in an increased adjustment process). KINDERGARTEN ASSISTANT
Live Oak Waldorf School is seeking a Kindergarten Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. The Kindergarten assistant, under the direction of the primary teacher, is responsible for assisting in providing quality care in support of the Kindergarten program needs of the Live Oak Waldorf School community.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES (including but not limited to):
The assistant participates in all aspects of the classroom work at the direction of the lead teacher, including:
- Managing and preparing for classroom activities
- Supervision of children during regular class hours and independent play,
- Preparing snack
- Housekeeping and upkeep/care of classroom
- Handwork support
- Participation and support in story time and circle time (singing, finger games, movement activities)
- Support in story time and circle time (singing, finger games, movement activities), helping the children to clean and tidy the classroom, and child observation.
REQUIREMENTS:
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 200 contact hours with Kindergarten age children
- Experience in a Waldorf Early Childhood classroom
- At least one week in Waldorf Early Childhood coursework education.
HOURS: Hours are from 7:45am-2pm Monday - Friday during the school year, with occasional weekend or evening duties. Assistants have an additional 20 hours of work after the school year ends as well as before the start of the new school year, plus one weekly mentoring meeting with the lead teacher.

PARENT-CHILD TEACHER
Live Oak Waldorf School is seeking a warm-hearted, enthusiastic, part-time Parent-Child (Sweet Pea) Teacher with a firm understanding of Waldorf Education. The teacher will support our newest families by creating a loving environment, and will work with parents to deepen their understanding of Waldorf Education and child development. Our Early Childhood program is thriving on a beautiful 40-acre campus in Meadow Vista, CA
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES (including but not limited to):
- Provide a simple and nutritious snack
- Facilitate simple parent crafts
- Lead circle and story
- Model rhythm and the observation of the children while meeting their diverse needs
- Provide reading materials and articles for parents and lead discussions about parenting and education
- Set-up, clean-up, and maintenance of the classroom and garden
REQUIREMENTS:
- Waldorf training, or a desire to learn about Waldorf Education
- California ECE Recommended
- CPR and First Aid certified
- Candidate must undergo Live Scan and a background check prior to being hired
HOURS: Hours of employment shall be part-time with an average of 2 hours per week per class session. The days of work are to be completed on site and primarily Monday through Friday from 9 am - 11 am, with occasional weekend duties and emergency situations.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS: The compensation for this position shall be an hourly rate of $25. We offer partial Tuition Remission (based on number of hours), Bereavement Leave and ongoing Professional Development.
